Best for: Dedicated sales teams (roughly 2–20 people) that want pipeline discipline without an all-in-one platform’s cost and complexity.

Pipedrive does one thing conspicuously well: it makes a sales pipeline visible and keeps salespeople using it. The kanban pipeline view is the product's centre of gravity, and its activity-based selling model — every deal should have a next action — is a genuinely good discipline that the interface enforces gently rather than bureaucratically.

Pipedrive pipeline product view

It is deliberately narrower than HubSpot or Zoho. There is no meaningful marketing suite (email campaigns are an add-on), no service desk, and the reporting is adequate rather than deep. For a sales team of two to twenty people that lives in its pipeline, this narrowness is a feature: there is less to configure, less to ignore and less to pay for.

Pipedrive's AI features — a sales assistant that surfaces at-risk deals, AI email drafting and summarisation — are useful but incremental. Automations cover the common cases (stage-change triggers, activity creation, email sends) without pretending to be a full automation platform; for anything complex we pair it with Make or Zapier.

Full hands-on testing of Pipedrive's current AI assistant is in progress; this profile reflects documented capabilities and our implementation experience with sales teams on the Growth and Premium plans (the former Advanced and Professional tiers — Pipedrive renamed its entire lineup in 2026).
