Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition (32GB)

The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition (32GB) is the 7-inch colour e-reader with wireless charging and an auto-adjusting front light. It renders highlights, charts and book covers in colour at 150ppi while keeping 300ppi for text. The one thing to know is that colour e-ink is muted and slower to refresh than the mono Paperwhite.

Who is the Colorsoft for?

• Readers of reports, textbooks and charts where colour highlights carry meaning.
• Wireless charging and the auto front light are the Signature Edition extras; a 16GB non-Signature Colorsoft is a separate listing.
• The launch batch in late 2024 had a yellow-band display defect that the maker fixed under warranty.
• Books come from the Kindle Store only; other formats need conversion via Send-to-Kindle.

Who should skip it

Anyone who reads mostly novels should buy the Paperwhite and save money. Anyone who needs to annotate PDFs by hand should look at the Kindle Scribe or reMarkable Paper Pro.
