Best for: Kitchens, break rooms and small offices that want a shared calendar, video calls and simple signage on one wall screen, per Tom's Guide.

The Echo Show 21 is a 21-inch Full HD smart display with Fire TV built in: a shared calendar, whiteboard and video-call screen for a kitchen or break room, with rotating signage as a bonus. The one thing to know is that it is a 1080p panel at 21 inches, so pixels are visible up close.

Where does a 21-inch Echo Show earn its place?

  • Shared calendar and whiteboard widgets readable from across a room.
  • Zoom and Alexa video calls; Fire TV OS with a remote for streaming (it is not a TV tuner).
  • Rotating photo or announcement slideshows as simple signage for a small office.
  • Alexa+ is free with Prime in the US and Canada, $19.99 a month otherwise, and unavailable in the Gulf, where it runs classic Alexa.

Pricing reads: See current price on Amazon. The Echo Show 15 is the smaller sibling; renewed units and stand bundles are separate listings. It appears in our 10-person office tech kit; more in home automation.

Who should skip it

Anyone wanting a crisp screen for close-up work or a real meeting-room display should buy a monitor or TV. Offices outside Alexa+ markets get less from it.

Research-based listing — not hands-on tested by Digital4All; details as of September 2026.

What reviewers say

  • Tom's Guide called it the largest and fastest Echo Show yet — "the perfect kitchen TV" — praising Fire TV with the bundled remote and Wi-Fi 6E, while wanting more widgets and more control over their layout. (Tom's Guide, Dec 2024)
  • Trusted Reviews found it a versatile display for shared spaces with Fire TV built in and a faster chip, but quite expensive, with audio that is "a little lacklustre". (Trusted Reviews, Dec 2024)
  • MakeUseOf scored it 8/10: the 1080p panel reads clearly across a room, the 13MP auto-framing camera suits video calls and the wall mount is included, but the sound muddies at distance and the rotating stand is an extra purchase. (MakeUseOf, Jan 2025)

Consensus: Reviewers agree it works as a shared calendar, whiteboard and video-call screen and that its speakers do not match its size. The pixel density at 21 inches is judged fine from across a room but not up close.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • 21-inch 1080p panel readable across a room (MakeUseOf)
  • Fire TV with bundled remote; Wi-Fi 6E (Tom's Guide)
  • 13MP auto-framing camera for video calls (MakeUseOf)
  • Wall mount included in the box (MakeUseOf)

What could be better

  • Audio underwhelms for the size (Trusted Reviews, MakeUseOf)
  • Few widgets and little layout control (Tom's Guide)
  • Rotating stand costs extra (MakeUseOf)
  • Alexa+ not available in the Gulf; runs classic Alexa there
