Wise Business is a multi-currency account for companies that pay or get paid across borders. It converts at the mid-market exchange rate plus a disclosed fee, holds balances in many currencies and provides local account details in several of them so customers can pay you like a domestic supplier. It is aimed at import/export SMEs, agencies with foreign clients and remote teams paying contractors abroad. The one thing to know is that it is a payments account, not a full bank: there is no lending and deposit protection differs by country.

Where does Wise Business fit for a cross-border SME?

Pricing: free to open, with a one-time setup fee of about $60 in some markets, then pay-per-transfer fees that Wise shows before you confirm (Wise pricing, August 2026). There is no monthly subscription.

Batch payments, team access and accounting integrations (QuickBooks, Xero) are included. Wise Payments Ltd is a regulated payments provider; check the terms and safeguarding arrangements for your own country before moving funds.

It sits in our Finance & ERP category.

Who should skip it

Businesses that trade only in one currency have little to gain. Companies that need credit facilities, cash deposits or a full banking relationship should keep their bank and use Wise alongside it. Digital4All does not provide financial advice.
