The SwitchBot Curtain 3 is a clip-on motor that opens and closes existing curtains on a schedule or at sunrise, with a QuietDrift slow mode, a 16kg pull and an optional solar panel. It is the only mainstream retrofit curtain motor with a real installed base. The one thing to know: rail-versus-rod compatibility is the top reason for returns.

Does the Curtain 3 fit your curtains?

  • Pricing: about $89.99 (U-rail) or $99.99 (rod) for a single unit; 2-packs from $169.99, per the listing's pricing line.
  • Pick the U-rail or rod version to match your track; measure before ordering.
  • Heavy curtains need the solar panel or roughly monthly charging.
  • Matter exposure comes via the SwitchBot Hub 2 or Hub 3; Aqara's Curtain Driver E1 is the Zigbee alternative.

Useful for a meeting room that should open up in the morning or darken for a presentation. Browse home automation.

Who should skip it

Anyone with blinds rather than curtains needs a different product. Anyone with very heavy or wide curtains should check the 16kg pull limit first.
