Philips Hue Bridge Pro

The Bridge Pro is Hue's hub for installations that have outgrown the standard Bridge. The older Bridge v2 tops out at 50 lights; the Pro supports 150 or more lights and 50 or more accessories, over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Signify lists it at $139.99, confirmed on philips-hue.com in September 2026.

The genuinely new capability is MotionAware. Rather than selling you sensors, it reads the disturbance pattern in the Zigbee mesh between bulbs you already own and turns that into a motion signal — Signify says up to 95% of existing Hue products can take part. In a house with lights in most rooms, that is presence detection with no additional hardware, which is a real change in what a lighting system can do. Note that the security alerting built on top of MotionAware sits behind a Hue Secure subscription; the motion signal itself is a Bridge feature, the intruder alerts are a paid service.

The honest sizing question comes first, though. Below 50 lights the $60–70 Bridge v2 delivers the same core Hue experience, and the Pro's headline number is capacity you are not using. Buy the Pro because you are at the ceiling, or because you have enough bulbs in place for MotionAware to work as a sensor layer — not because it is the newer box.
