Govee Strip Light 2 (Matter)

The Govee Strip Light 2 is a cuttable Wi-Fi LED strip with dedicated white LEDs (1,000-10,000K) alongside the colour segments, and Matter certification so it works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings. Launched on 11 August 2026, it is the accent-lighting layer for a reception wall or a video backdrop. The one thing to know: Matter exposes only on/off and colour; scenes and music sync stay in the Govee app.

Is the Strip Light 2 a good first Matter light?

• Pricing: about $49.99 (9.8ft) to $139.99 (65.6ft); the 16.4ft length is $59.99, per the listing's pricing line.
• True white light means it can double as task or ambient lighting, not only colour effects.
• Cuttable segments suit shelving, desks and signage.
• As a brand-new SKU, early reviews and stock are still settling; HomeKit News, Matter Alpha and Notebookcheck covered the launch.

Who should skip it

Anyone who wants full scene control from a single Matter app will be disappointed by the limited exposure. Buyers needing outdoor or high-output lighting should look at a dedicated fixture.
