BOOX Note Air4 C is a 10.3-inch colour E Ink tablet that runs Android 13 with Google Play, so OneNote, Kindle and Drive run on a paper-like screen. It suits people who annotate PDFs and want notes in the tools they already use rather than a maker's cloud. The one thing to know: Kaleido 3 colour is pastel, at half the resolution of the mono layer.

How does the Note Air4 C compare with reMarkable and Kindle Scribe?

  • Price reads $499 at launch (Oct 2024); $469.99 on shop.boox.com, Sep 2026 — BOOX.
  • 2480×1860 at 300 ppi in mono, 1240×930 at 150 ppi in colour, 6GB memory and 64GB storage plus microSD; Pen Plus stylus included; 5.8 mm thick, about 420 g.
  • Free E-Reader (February 2026) found the colour limited against competitors and noted it is not waterproof; Templacity says writing latency has closed most of the gap with reMarkable.
  • Android 13 in 2026 reflects BOOX's slower update cadence than a phone's.

The open alternative to reMarkable Paper Pro and Kindle Scribe in business hardware.

Who should skip it

Anyone who wants a distraction-free writing slate should pick the reMarkable; anyone who reads mostly in bed will find 420 g heavy.
